Parsons raises over £1,700 for brainstrust

Published

We’re delighted to share that we have surpassed our fundraising target of £1,000 for brainstrust following the fantastic support of colleagues, clients, friends and family throughout the year.

With an original target of £1,000, our team has now raised over £1,700 with serval fundraising activities still to come before the end of the year. The team chose to support brainstrust in support of Emma Ward as their charity of the year, as the charity has a personal connection to Angela Davenport, Commercial Financial Controller at Parsons. This connection, together with the support brainstrust provides to people affected by brain tumours made it a cause colleagues were keen to support.

Angela Davenport, Commercial Financial Controller said: “Emma is my best friend from school who was diagnosed with a brain tumour at the beginning of 2025. After awake brain surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy her life expectancy was only 12-15 months which meant there were no further treatments available on the NHS.”

The money raised throughout the year will go towards supporting Emma’s regular treatment in Germany, helping her to continue accessing the treatment and care she needs.

A packed calendar of activities has helped the team surpass their fundraising target with colleagues getting involved in everything from crafts and quizzes to a charity raffle.

Most recently, the York team pulled on their walking boots for a sponsored walk, taking on Robin Hood’s Bay to Whitby circular walk. They completed the 13.5 mile walk in 4 hours 30 minutes and rewarded themselves with some well-deserved fish and chips in Whitby.

“Reaching our target ahead of the end of the year is a brilliant achievement and we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported the fundraising so far. Every donation, sponsorship and fundraising effort means so much to us all and Emma’s family and friends.” adds Angela.

Despite already exceeding their target, we have no plans to slow down. Pumpkin carving and a bake sale are next on the fundraising calendar followed by a Christmas jumper day and festive quiz to round off the year.
