Thomson began his professional career in 2018 as an accounting apprentice, after finishing his A-Levels. During his five years working within the accounts preparation team, he developed an extensive skill set across management accounts, payroll and statutory accounts. His experience spans a broad client base, from owner-managed businesses to larger multi-million-pound companies, and during this time he progressed through the firm to the role of Accounts Assistant Manager. Thomson qualified as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant in December 2023.
In 2024, he took a six-month sabbatical to travel throughout South East Asia, gaining valuable personal and cultural experience before returning to Parsons. Upon his return, he joined the audit team as an Assistant Manager, where he leads on more complex areas of the audit file and supports the wider team to ensure audits are planned, managed and delivered efficiently and effectively.
Outside of work, Thomson has a keen interest in sport, particularly football. He enjoys travelling and visiting new countries and has a strong passion for spending time outdoors. He regularly visits the Lake District, where he enjoys hiking and long walks with family and friends.
