Parsons Celebrates Success at Yorkshire Accountancy Awards

Published

For the third consecutive year Parsons, Chartered Accountants is celebrating success at the highly prestigious Yorkshire Accountancy Awards.

A team of twelve attended the ceremony at the Royal Armouries, proudly representing the firm across six shortlisted categories: Managing Partner of the Year, Partner of the Year, Team of the Year, Rising Star of the Year, Trainee of the Year and Support Staff of the Year.

The team celebrated multiple successes at the annual event, which recognises outstanding firms, teams and individuals across Yorkshire’s accountancy sector. Winning one award would have marked a successful evening – winning two was a moment of real pride for the firm.

Support Staff of the Year – Alex Rose

Alex was one of only three shortlisted candidates in this category and notably the only individual nominee, competing against marketing and support teams from rival firms.

Since joining Parsons, Alex has played a pivotal role in the firm’s operational and strategic development. Her contributions include redesigning the apprentice recruitment process, facilitating firm-wide employee engagement sessions, developing competency frameworks across all departments and grades, and supporting strategic planning initiatives.

The judges commented:

The judges recognised a winner that plays an essential role in the success of the organisation, consistently adding value across a wide range of critical functions. A clear commitment to excellence, quality and innovation was evident in everything they do, with their contribution extending beyond day-to-day operations to support the wider business and profession.

Rising Star of the Year – Daniel Andreca

Daniel joined Parsons in February 2025 as Head of Tax and has since transformed the firm’s personal tax offering. Under his leadership, compliance and advisory services have expanded significantly, strengthening client retention and generating new internal opportunities for growth.

Beyond client delivery, Daniel has demonstrated a clear commitment to the wider profession by delivering presentations to sector stakeholders, onboarding apprentices into his growing team and contributing regularly to national tax publications.

The judges commented:

The judges described this individual as a complete standout, delivering huge, measurable results underpinned by exceptional technical excellence. Beyond their role, the extent of their contribution to graduates, apprenticeships and wider community support was particularly impressive, marking them out as an outstanding rising star within the profession.

Celebrating shortlisted nominees

We’d like to say a huge congratulations to our other shortlisted nominees:

Ian Parsons – Managing Partner of the Year and Partner of the Year

Ammaarah Patel – Trainee of the Year

Audit Team – Team of the Year

Being shortlisted in such competitive categories reflects a year of meaningful progress, focused on realignment, positive change and laying strong foundations for future growth.

Lead nomination author Andy Lucas, Audit Director, commented:

“Internally, we know that Parsons has had a transformational year, with individuals and teams going above and beyond in driving meaningful change across processes, marketing and long-term vision. To receive external validation at this level confirms that the firm is firmly on the right path as we continue to grow our presence across Yorkshire.”

This year’s success brings the firm’s total to five awards in three years following wins for Trainee of the Year and Support Staff of the Year in 2024, and Partner of the Year in 2025. For a single-partner practice, this sustained recognition is a remarkable achievement and reflects a clear commitment to client service excellence, employee development and the delivery of a forward-thinking strategy that empowers every team member to perform at their best.

We’re all looking ahead to the 2027 awards and continuing its journey of growth and innovation.
